When you become a club member, you agree to:
- Look after any dog under your care, abiding by all aspects of the Animal Welfare Act, meaning you will house, feed, water and exercise the animal appropriately and arrange for veterinary care as and when required.
- Prevent your dog from roaming at large or causing a nuisance, keeping them on a lead or under effective control when away from home.
- Ensure your dog is microchipped and wearing a properly tagged collar.
- Clean up after your dog.
- Never ask a veterinary surgeon to perform an operation which alters the animal’s natural conformation.
- Not get involved in any breeding that could in any way be harmful to the dog or the breed.
- Place all healthy puppies in suitable homes – even if the pups don’t conform to the breed standard.
- Never engage in illegal, immoral, or irresponsible dog/puppy trade.
- If your circumstances have changed and you need to rehome, PLEASE contact your breeder in the first instance and/or the club’s puppy/rehoming co-ordinator.
- Provide all relevant documents, written details of all dietary requirements, and appropriate guidance concerning responsible ownership when placing a dog in a new home.
Breaching any of these codes may result in membership cancellation, and/or disciplinary action. We may also report you to the relevant authorities.
