Dandie walk August 2023

Hi folks, Ludo here!

On the 13th August, I was joined by some of my friends for a walkies around the Forest of Marston Vale in Bedfordshire. Although it was a nice day, there were only a few of us, but we made the most of it! My litter brother Wilfred also joined us, it was the first time in 5 years we have seen each other.

Me, mummy and nanny got there early so we could check out the goodies on offer for after the walk and to greet everyone as they came in. When we were waiting, we got lots of attention from passersby, some knew Dandies, but others had no clue, so I was only too happy to let them fuss me and show how lovely we are!

After a short while waiting to see if anyone else was joining us, we set off! Mummy walks me round the lake frequently, so we decided to take a different route, well, I am sure it was much longer than the usual route! Nanny said it was the same, but I don’t always trust her, after all she is the one that hides things in my food sometimes!

It was a nice walk; we stuck to the path and came across lots of other doggies. It looked like it was going to rain but luckily the rain held off for us and the sun was shining. We had a couple of stops for water breaks and then we were off again. I started to lag a little because it was rather warm, and mummy wouldn’t let me sniff every tree. She picked me up and carried me at some points to catch up with everyone which totally ruined my street cred!

As soon as I saw the wind turbine, I knew we were on the home stretch back to the Forest Centre.

When we arrived back at the Forest Centre, we were all tired, we had a big drink and then whilst our mums and dads were getting their own food and drink, we had doggy ice cream! It was scrumptious!

It was so good to see my chums, we don’t see many Dandies where I live – I am the only Dandie in the village! So, a big THANK YOU to Basil, Bumble, Iggy, Clover, Lettice (the Skye) and Wilfred for joining me on my walk.

Hope to see you all soon!

Love,

Ludo xxx
